Pinan Shodan

Shift your centre of gravity to your right slightly whilst dropping into your stance.

Don't introduce any unnecessary movement by dropping the arms down too much to perform the movement. Use your natural body motion to aid the gaiwan uke. The right arm should be loose to perform an effective uke.

Do not lead the movement with the elbow up high first.

Pinan Shodan

Turn your upper body as much as possible without losing the shape of your stance. turn your head as well.

Pinan Shodan

Pull your right foot back and strike to your temple height. The arm and feet movements finish simultaneously.

Pinan Shodan

Your right arm drops straight down into the 6 o'clock position. This is a natural movement in the sense that you are not forcing the arm down, but taking away the tension in the arm.

There is a subtle body shift to the right hand side if you turn on your heels.

The body turn and arm dropping down complete together.
