Bournemouth Karate Club (Wado Ryu)

We will be holding a Special Course over the weekend of April 29 and 30, 2017.

Being a small club we never got to host Shiomitsu Sensei teaching at our dojo. Unfortunately since his stroke, we don't think he will be able to teach again, but it is great to see him at the Summer and Winter courses, which always puts us on our toes.

I have decided that this year the club will host a two day course and invite the senior Wado Academy instructors to teach if they are available and our friends from around the UK and Europe to train and have fun together.

We hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas break and wish everyone a Happy New Year for 2017.

From tonight's session, we hope to start as we mean to go on. When we start training we are learning the shapes, which limbs go where but at some point soon after we need to have the mindset of trying to apply ourselves, with rigour and speed. Technique may waver a bit with the introduction of speed, but they we repeat and try to get better.

Unless we try and do things fast, with the risk of some failure, we will never get to the stage of doing anything fast. If we over-think things, sometimes we are our own worst enemy.

All I ask is that you try.

Grrr to technology. Had to set up a new web server, which didn't like the old CMS that wouldn't run on PHP7.

Thought I would set up the core pages first and then slowly and on any remaining pages.

I will start to add blog items mainly to cover any reports or ramblings that I may have, which won't sit in the natural structure of the website about the club.
